Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan Heritage Architecture Excellence Award

The Lieutentant Governor of Saskatchewan Heritage Architecture Excellence Award is presented annually by the Honourable Dr. Gordon L. Barnhart at Government House in Regina.

The Award is convened and adjudicated by the Architectural Heritage Society of Saskatchewan to encourage and recognize excellence in the interest of conserving our province's built heritage.

The Award may be presented each year in any or all of eight categories: Exterior Restoration; Interior Restoration; Rehabilitation; Adaptive Re-use; Sympathetic New Construction; Landscape, Engineering and Agricultural Works; Education, Signage, Monuments and Interpretation; and, Long-term Stewardship of a Heritage Property.

One hundred twenty-five Awards have been presented to acknowledge the achievements of building owners and community groups, architects and designers, constructors and craftspersons since inception of the program in 1996. The Society is grateful for adoption and annual presentation of the Award by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan in 2002.
